BPM Logic is involved in a range of software development projects and consulting engagements of all sizes. We have a broad range of technical skills supported by a core knowledge of Java and .NET technologies. Whilst we are technology-neutral in our approach we are also believers in the power of the open source software movement.
Agile Projects
We specialise in helping our customers to solve complex business problems. To do this we employ Scrum, an Agile methodology, to manage our software development projects to achieve the best value results.
The focus is on rapid, continuous delivery of useful software where working software is delivered frequently (weeks rather than months) This provides early measurable results and early feedback leading to higher quality deliverables and avoids time wasted on development which does not add business value. There is transparency in planning and development which gives customers greater understanding and control of the process.
We recently applied the Scrum methodology to an extensive project to re-write the ResearchResearch platform which has allowed us to rapidly deliver a series of functional improvements into a complex architecture.
Wine industry
A particular area of interest to us is the wine industry where the task of purchasing wine from producers abroad, en primeur, importing, storing, and then selling online or in the high street requires efficient management in a controlled and intelligible way.
We have spent the last 2 years developing an extranet business solution for the wine industry and are interested in all opportunities for software development in the wine industry from iPhone apps to full-blown ERP systems. If anyone has experienced the frustration of a tweaked and bloated Maginus, SAGE or SAP system that incurs spiralling developer costs and yet remains a pain to use, BPM Logic can provide a balanced solution linking CRM, Accounting, Stock Management, EPOS and e-commerce solutions to suit current and future needs and enable a focused formulation of strategy and refined business process management through efficient data collection and effective business reporting.
We have also been working on our own wine search engine Sarambus which is set to be released soon. It utilises proprietary language processing algorithms to solve some of the complex problems of differing wine taxonomies and classification systems.
Mobile Development
In the past year we have become increasingly involved in iPhone development for companies like Mobyko and mobile development is an area we are growing in. We are currently able to develop mobile applications for iPhone, Blackberry and Android platforms. This is set to be a massive growth area over the next few years and we would be happy to talk to you about how best your company can benefit from mobile applications.
Open Source
We currently contribute to an open source project of our own, a Python-based timesheet application called Jiffy. We also contribute to the Noda Time and Jasper projects.
